GTA 6 Ultimate Edition is the premium digital edition of Grand Theft Auto VI. It includes the base game and the Ultimate Edition Upgrade, which adds 16 named bonuses covering vehicles, weapons, character styles, exclusive businesses, and additional activities. In the US PlayStation Store, Ultimate costs $99.99, compared with $79.99 for Standard.
The most important limitation is that buying Ultimate does not place every bonus in your inventory at the beginning. Rockstar says the content is threaded through Jason and Lucia’s story, with new items uncovered behind different chapters. The edition also does not include an announced early-access period: preloading begins on November 12, 2026, but the game releases on November 19, 2026.
You do not have to commit to Ultimate immediately. Standard Edition owners can purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately through the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront after activating their game. Rockstar says that upgrade option remains available at any time.

Everything included in GTA 6 Ultimate
The complete purchase contains the same base game sold with Standard Edition plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. Rockstar divides the upgrade’s additions across vehicles, weapons, apparel, special destinations, and playable action. The following list keeps those categories separate so you can see what the premium actually changes.
Vehicles and vehicle-related extras

A promotional montage of the major vehicle bonuses included with Ultimate Edition.
| Bonus | Confirmed role |
|---|---|
| ’95 Grotti Cheetah | A mid-1990s sports car with a minimalist retro-futuristic livery, intended for later-stage action |
| Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles | An army-fatigue Dinka Enduro motorcycle and a Crest Kayak associated with Jason’s safehouse |
| Ganado Retro Build | Exclusive modifications that add muscle and classic styling to Jason’s Vapid Ganado pickup |
| Shitzu Squalo | A pink-and-blue watercraft docked at Washington Beach and equipped with an explosives-laden weapons crate |
| ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy | An off-road vehicle designed for the backwoods of Mount Kalaga and other rough terrain |
| Paradise Garage | A Watson Bay garage for the Dominator Buggy, with a weapon locker and a secure place to deposit stolen goods for fencing |
These benefits are not presented as a starter bundle delivered all at once. The official description specifically places the ’95 Grotti Cheetah in later-stage action, while the overall upgrade description says additions emerge behind different chapters. Exact chapter requirements have not been announced, so no reliable unlock order can be listed yet.
The Ganado Retro Build is also narrower than ownership of the underlying pickup. It is an exclusive set of modifications for Jason’s Vapid Ganado, not a statement that vehicle customization as a whole requires Ultimate Edition.
Weapons, clothing, and character styles
| Bonus | Confirmed role |
|---|---|
| Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers | His-and-hers versions of a powerful revolver with palm-tree-etched grips, engraved detailing, and a high-performance scope |
| Personalized Weapon Variants | Engraved versions of Jason’s Girardi ES9 pistol and Lucia’s Klose K17 pistol |
| Vice City Styles | Exclusive outfits, hairstyles, tattoos, and other appearance options for Jason and Lucia |
| Goodtime Gear | Apparel and accessories inspired by the Goodtime State television character Macca the Gator |
The official descriptions confirm the identity and styling of these weapons, but they do not provide damage statistics, ammunition limits, prices, or exact unlock chapters. There is therefore no supported basis for calling any of them the strongest weapon or a progression shortcut.
Vice City Styles and Goodtime Gear are part of the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. They are separate from the similarly named Vintage Vice City Pack offered with qualifying purchases of both editions.
Businesses open only with Ultimate Edition

The panel names four of the edition-exclusive destinations and their services.
Five named destinations are explicitly described as open only to Ultimate Edition owners:
| Destination | Exclusive service |
|---|---|
| Rideout Customs | Detailed vehicle interiors, rims, and donk styling |
| Sara’s Unisex Salon | Hairstyles for both protagonists, facial hair for Jason, and makeup and nails for Lucia |
| Stock 305 | Exclusive clothing for Jason and Lucia at a Stockyard streetwear store |
| Electric Fang Tattoo | More than 50 signature tattoos for Jason and Lucia, designed by the artist collective FAILE |
| One-Eyed Willie’s | Lake Leonida mod shop specializing in off-road modifications and hand-painted automotive work |
The exclusivity applies to these five named locations and their associated offerings. It does not establish that Standard Edition lacks all salons, tattoo parlors, clothing stores, or vehicle modification elsewhere in the game. A complete list of Standard Edition businesses has not been published, so broader claims about what Standard owners can or cannot do would be premature.
Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie’s also have different specialties. The first emphasizes detailed interiors, rims, and donk styling, while the second focuses on off-road modifications and hand-painted automotive artistry. Their inclusion may matter more to a player interested in vehicle presentation than to someone concentrating on the main story.
Additional action and restoration activity

The image represents the PTT Youngin’s Compound raid activity.
The upgrade includes two additions that involve more than receiving an item or visiting a retail location:
- PTT Youngin$ Compound: You can raid a Southside Vice City gang compound and attempt to escape with special items and distinct contraband.
- Classic Car Collection: Wyman, an eccentric collector and local fixer, commissions you to locate abandoned or unfinished project cars and restore them.
The official material does not state how many Classic Car Collection jobs exist, how long either activity takes, or whether restored vehicles become permanent player-owned rewards. It also does not publish the exact chapter in which either activity becomes available. Those details should remain open until Rockstar supplies them or the released game can be verified.
What Ultimate Edition does not uniquely include
Several benefits displayed beside Ultimate Edition are purchase promotions rather than Ultimate-exclusive content. Keeping them separate prevents the premium edition from appearing to contain more unique material than it does.
The Vintage Vice City Pack
Qualifying Standard and Ultimate purchases can both receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. Its confirmed contents are:
- The ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and a garage
- Outfits and hairstyles
- An exclusive weapon pattern
You therefore do not need Ultimate solely to obtain this pack. Eligibility depends on the purchase window and format, so the store or retailer terms attached to your order remain important.
The one-month GTA+ offer
A one-month GTA+ membership is attached to eligible digital purchases, not to the Ultimate Edition Upgrade itself. On PlayStation, the offer terms state it must be claimed by March 31, 2027, is limited to one redemption per account, and continues at the regular monthly price until canceled after the included month.
That membership should not be treated as proof of a separate GTA VI online mode or as a requirement for the confirmed single-player experience. It is a promotional subscription benefit with its own redemption and renewal terms.
Preloading rather than early access
Both editions support preloading from November 12, seven days before the November 19 release. Preloading lets the game data download in advance; it does not move the playable release date forward. Ultimate Edition has no separately confirmed early-access window in the announced edition benefits.
How the Ultimate Edition Upgrade works
There are two routes to the same named upgrade content:
- Buy the digital GTA 6 Ultimate Edition, which bundles the base game with the Ultimate Edition Upgrade.
- Buy Standard Edition, activate its digital license or redeem its download code, and purchase the Upgrade separately from the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront later.
Rockstar says Standard owners can upgrade at any time. That makes Standard a reversible purchase decision if you are uncertain about the premium content. No upgrade deadline, penalty for upgrading later, or different content list for later purchasers has been announced.
The standalone Upgrade is an add-on rather than another copy of the game. A Standard Edition license must already be activated before the add-on can be used. Conversely, a complete Ultimate Edition purchase already includes the Upgrade, so its owner does not need to buy the add-on again.
Because the bonuses unlock throughout the story, upgrading later may not immediately reveal everything. Availability still follows the game’s chapter-based delivery. No process has been announced for retroactively handling bonuses tied to chapters a player has already completed, so that behavior should not be assumed before release.
Who should choose GTA 6 Ultimate Edition
Ultimate is the more direct choice if you already know that the named premium content matters to you. Its clearest differentiators are the five exclusive businesses, the PTT Youngin$ Compound raid, the Classic Car Collection commission, and its specific collection of vehicles, weapons, clothing, and customization options.
Consider buying Ultimate immediately when all or most of the following are true:
- You want access to every currently announced premium location.
- Vehicle collecting and customization are major parts of how you intend to play.
- You specifically want the Dominator Buggy, Paradise Garage, Squalo, Grotti Cheetah, or Jason’s safehouse vehicles.
- You want the exclusive styles, weapon variants, tattoo selection, or Goodtime Gear.
- You prefer purchasing the complete premium bundle once instead of adding it later.
Starting with Standard is the lower-commitment route when the premium list does not yet justify the added cost for you. Standard includes Grand Theft Auto VI, and its owners retain the option to add the same Ultimate Edition Upgrade later. This is particularly relevant before release because the length, mechanical value, and precise unlock timing of the extra activities remain unconfirmed.
Neither choice should be based on an expectation of early access. It is also unsafe to judge the edition by unofficial estimates of activity length, weapon strength, or the number of businesses available in the base game. Those details are not resolved by the confirmed material.
Purchase checks before paying
Use this short checklist to avoid the edition’s main purchase traps:
- Confirm that you are buying for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
- Choose the complete Ultimate Edition if you need both the game and Upgrade; do not buy the standalone Upgrade without an activated Standard license.
- Expect the full Ultimate Edition to be digital. Rockstar has not announced a physical Ultimate version.
- If you buy boxed Standard, expect a download code rather than a game disc. Redeem the code before purchasing the Upgrade.
- Match any PlayStation code region to the region of your platform account. Xbox codes are not region-locked.
- Treat November 12 as the preload date and November 19 as the release date.
- Check the exact promotional terms if the Vintage Vice City Pack or one-month GTA+ offer affects your decision.
- Remember that the bonuses are chapter-linked; do not expect every vehicle, weapon, store, and activity to appear immediately.
The practical decision is therefore straightforward: Ultimate provides a defined collection of extra content, but Standard does not lock you out of upgrading later. Choose Ultimate now only when the confirmed list itself is worth the premium to you, without relying on unverified claims about power, playtime, or undisclosed launch features.
