The confirmed GTA 6 price in the United States is $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. That makes Ultimate a $20 edition premium over Standard. Both editions are available digitally for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while the physical release is limited to Standard Edition and contains a download code rather than a disc.
The safest choice for someone who only wants the game is Standard Edition. Ultimate Edition is for players who specifically value its exclusive vehicles, weapons, customization businesses, apparel, and additional activities. There is no announced early access advantage: both editions are scheduled for the same November 19, 2026 launch date.
These are confirmed US prices. Your local storefront may show a different currency or regional price, and the list prices do not establish taxes, retailer fees, discounts, bundles, or exchange-rate equivalents. A PC edition and PC price have not been officially announced.
Confirmed GTA 6 prices
| Purchase option | Confirmed US price | Format | What is confirmed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $79.99 | Digital or physical code box | Grand Theft Auto VI |
| Ultimate Edition | $99.99 | Digital | Grand Theft Auto VI plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade content |
| Standard-to-Ultimate Upgrade on US Xbox Store | $20.00 | Digital add-on | Ultimate content for an eligible Standard Edition copy; this is not a confirmed PlayStation or worldwide price |
| PC edition | Not announced | Not announced | No official PC release date or price |
The $79.99 and $99.99 figures should be treated as US list prices, not universal prices. Check the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront associated with the account that will redeem and play the game. This is particularly important for a physical code box because PlayStation redemption regions must match an eligible account region.
The US Xbox Store lists the standalone Ultimate Edition Upgrade at $20.00. At those US Xbox list prices, Standard plus the add-on totals $99.99 before any applicable tax. This does not establish the add-on price for PlayStation or another country. Check the actual add-on listing in the account region where you intend to buy.
What the $20 Ultimate premium buys
Standard Edition includes the game. Ultimate Edition includes the game and the Ultimate Edition Upgrade, a collection of content that appears throughout Jason and Lucia’s story. Rockstar says new Ultimate items are uncovered behind each chapter, so the extra content should not be treated as one immediate bundle delivered at the opening of the game.
The confirmed Ultimate content includes the following groups:
- Vehicles and vehicle content: the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles, the Ganado Retro Build, the Shitzu Squalo, and the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with a garage.
- Weapons and styles: the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, Personalized Weapon Variants, and Vice City Styles.
- Exclusive businesses: Rideout Customs Mod Shop, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305 Clothing Store, Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor, and One-Eyed Willie’s Mod Shop.
- Apparel and activities: Goodtime Gear, the PTT Youngin$ Compound, and the Classic Car Collection.
This makes the $20 difference more than a simple cosmetic surcharge. The premium covers vehicles, weapons, character styling, businesses, and extra activities. However, it does not change the confirmed launch date, and no early access period is attached to Ultimate Edition.
The practical buying decision is therefore about optional content rather than access to the base game. If you mainly want to start GTA 6 at launch and experience the included game, Standard is the lowest confirmed price. If vehicle customization, character customization, exclusive businesses, and additional activities are central to how you expect to play, Ultimate provides those extras for $20 more.
Avoid assigning a dollar value to every item individually. Separate prices for the Cheetah, stores, weapon variants, or activities have not been announced. Dividing $20 by the number of listed bonuses may look precise, but it does not show how much any one item is actually worth or whether you will use it.
Standard Edition value and limitations
At $79.99, Standard Edition is the minimum confirmed purchase that includes Grand Theft Auto VI. It is available digitally and through the physical code-box release. Standard owners are also allowed to buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately after redeeming their game code.
Standard is the lower-risk choice in three situations:
- You only need the game. The official inclusion list for Standard is simple: it includes Grand Theft Auto VI.
- The Ultimate extras are not important to you. Paying $20 more only makes sense if you expect to use the exclusive vehicles, weapons, styles, businesses, or activities.
- You prefer to decide later. The upgrade path remains available after a Standard code has been redeemed, with the US Xbox add-on listed at $20.00 and other storefront prices requiring their own check.
The third option preserves flexibility. Buying Ultimate immediately gives you the complete edition at its listed US price of $99.99. Buying Standard and waiting lets you judge the bonus content later. The listed US Xbox Standard-plus-upgrade total is also $99.99, but later discounts, taxes, other currencies, and PlayStation add-on pricing must be checked separately.
Standard buyers should also avoid assuming that every location or customization option named in the Ultimate list will be accessible in another form. The evidence confirms that five named businesses belong to Ultimate Edition. It does not establish how many alternative mod shops, salons, clothing stores, or tattoo parlors Standard Edition will contain. Make the decision using the confirmed exclusives, not guesses about replacement content.
Ultimate Edition value and limitations
At $99.99, Ultimate Edition costs about 25% more than the $79.99 Standard Edition, while the absolute difference is $20. The useful question is whether its named content changes the parts of GTA 6 that matter to you.
Ultimate is the clearer choice when all three of these conditions apply:
- You actively want several of the named exclusive vehicles, weapons, businesses, or activities.
- You are comfortable paying the full $99.99 before independent post-launch evaluation of that content.
- You understand that the bonuses are distributed through the story rather than necessarily being available immediately.
The exclusive businesses are especially relevant to players interested in vehicle and character customization. Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie’s are mod shops; Sara’s Unisex Salon covers appearance options; Stock 305 is a clothing store; and Electric Fang is a tattoo parlor. The PTT Youngin$ Compound and Classic Car Collection add activity-oriented content rather than only visual items.
Ultimate does not solve every purchase concern. It remains digital-only, it does not include announced early access, and it does not establish anything about a future PC version. The extra $20 should therefore be evaluated only against the confirmed Ultimate content—not against hoped-for performance, online features, future ports, or unannounced bonuses.
Digital and physical purchase differences
The word “physical” needs special attention for GTA 6. The physical version is a box containing a digital download code. There is no game disc inside. Physical versions are expected to begin shipping or become available for pickup on November 12, 2026 so buyers can redeem the code and preload before launch.
Only a physical Standard Edition is confirmed. A physical Ultimate Edition is not available. If you buy the physical Standard box and later want the Ultimate content, you can purchase the digital Ultimate Edition Upgrade after redeeming the included game code.
This creates several practical differences:
- The physical box does not provide disc-based installation or play.
- The code must be redeemed before the game can be downloaded.
- A used code may already have been redeemed, so the box itself is not proof of an unused game license.
- PlayStation codes must match the supported region associated with the platform account.
- Rockstar recommends buying from a retailer in the same country as the platform account to reduce activation problems.
- Xbox codes are not region-locked.
For PlayStation, the official region groupings are more specific than a simple console-country label. A code bought for one supported group may not work with an account registered in another. Japan also has a special rule: Japanese product codes expire 170 days after their November 19, 2026 issuance date because of regional regulations.
Do not pay a premium to a reseller under the assumption that the box contains a collectible playable disc. The confirmed product is still a digital license delivered by code. If the box and printed cover are not important to you, compare the retailer’s physical Standard price directly with the platform store’s digital Standard price.
Pre-order bonuses and their price impact
The Vintage Vice City Pack is the main confirmed limited-time game-content offer. Eligible digital purchases of either edition made before November 20, 2026 include:
- The ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage
- Outfits and Hairstyles
- An Exclusive Weapon Pattern
- One month of GTA+ Membership
Physical pre-orders include a code for the game and the Vintage Vice City Pack. The physical-edition offer does not include the one-month GTA+ membership, so do not assume that bonus applies to the code-box purchase.

The date wording matters. The official digital terms cover pre-orders and purchases before November 20, 2026, not only orders placed weeks in advance. Since the scheduled launch is November 19, an eligible digital purchase on launch day may still fall within that stated period. Store availability and displayed terms should still be checked at checkout.
The Vintage Vice City Pack is offered with both Standard and Ultimate under the eligible conditions. It is not a reason by itself to pay the extra $20 for Ultimate. Compare the editions using the Ultimate-only content, because the limited-time pack does not distinguish the two digital price tiers.
Preloading is also not early access. Digital preloading begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026. Physical codes received and redeemed in time can also support the November 12 preload. Downloading the files early does not allow play before the scheduled November 19 launch.
Costs that need a local check
A reliable budget should separate known prices from missing information. The following costs are not established by the two US full-edition list prices:
- The standalone Upgrade price outside the confirmed $20.00 US Xbox listing, including PlayStation and other regions
- PC pricing or a PC launch window
- Final prices in every country and currency
- Sales, retailer discounts, bundles, or future subscription access
- Taxes and payment-processing costs for a particular buyer
- Any future online product or related subscription requirement
The official US prices are enough to compare Standard and Ultimate, but they are not enough to calculate every buyer’s final checkout total. Use the platform account’s own store region as the authoritative checkout reference. Avoid converting $79.99 or $99.99 mechanically and presenting the result as a confirmed local price.
A GTA VI-themed DualSense controller is a separate accessory, not a copy or edition of the game. Its price should not be added unless you deliberately want that controller. Likewise, merchandise or collector products should never be mistaken for an edition that includes Grand Theft Auto VI unless the product listing explicitly says the game is included.
A practical buying decision
Use this order to choose without paying for the wrong product:
- Confirm your platform. The announced game platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no official PC price to compare.
- Check your account region. This is essential before buying a PlayStation code from a physical retailer or another country.
- Choose the base-game budget. Standard is $79.99 in the US and is the lowest confirmed price.
- Review the Ultimate-only content. If several of the named vehicles, businesses, weapons, styles, and activities matter to you, compare that value with the $20 premium.
- Choose digital or physical Standard carefully. The physical box still uses a download code and contains no disc.
- Check the displayed bonus terms. Confirm the Vintage Vice City Pack and, for an eligible digital purchase, the one-month GTA+ offer at checkout.
- Check the later upgrade price in your store. The US Xbox add-on is listed at $20.00; do not extend that amount to another platform or region.
For the simplest low-cost route, buy Standard Edition for $79.99 from the storefront or an account-compatible retailer. For the confirmed launch package with all listed Ultimate content, buy Ultimate Edition digitally for $99.99. If you are undecided, Standard preserves an upgrade path. Use the add-on price shown in your own storefront before comparing the total with a complete Ultimate purchase.
