GTA 6 Standard Edition does not include access to five named Ultimate Edition destinations: Rideout Customs, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo, and One-Eyed Willie's. Two are vehicle mod shops, while the other three cover hair and beauty options, clothing, and tattoos.
That does not prove that every mod shop, salon, clothing store, or tattoo parlor is unavailable in the Standard Edition. Rockstar’s edition descriptions identify those five locations as Ultimate-only, but they do not provide a complete list of the customization businesses included in the base game. Because GTA VI remains unreleased as of October 28, 2026, the availability and range of alternative Standard Edition shops cannot yet be verified through public gameplay.
Standard Edition owners are not permanently locked into that choice. Rockstar says they can purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately after their game or physical-edition download code has been redeemed.
The short answer

Standard Edition product artwork; the cover does not establish the complete list of shops in the base game.
The safest reading of the published edition information is:
- Standard Edition includes the game, but not the Ultimate Edition Upgrade.
- Five specific customization destinations require the Ultimate Edition Upgrade.
- Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie's are the two confirmed Ultimate-only mod shops.
- Sara's Unisex Salon is the confirmed Ultimate-only salon.
- Stock 305 and Electric Fang Tattoo are also Ultimate-only customization businesses.
- Rockstar’s edition descriptions do not say that all vehicle, hair, clothing, makeup, nail, or tattoo customization is exclusive to Ultimate.
- The number and capabilities of any alternative Standard Edition businesses remain unconfirmed before release.
- A Standard Edition owner can add the Upgrade later, so buying Standard does not force an irreversible decision.
This distinction matters. It is accurate to say that Standard Edition players cannot use the five named destinations without upgrading. It is not currently justified to turn that fact into the broader claim that Standard Edition removes vehicle or character customization as a whole.
What the Standard Edition includes
The official edition summary describes the Standard Edition simply as including Grand Theft Auto VI. It does not attach the Ultimate Edition Upgrade or its exclusive destinations to that purchase.
That wording establishes what Standard buyers are purchasing, but it is not a complete feature inventory for the base game. A store page normally highlights edition differences rather than listing every business, activity, mechanic, or customization option in the game. Therefore, the absence of a separate Standard Edition shop list cannot be used as proof that no other shops exist.
The five named businesses belong to the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. They are described as special destinations that are only open for business with that upgrade. Access to their location-specific services and exclusive selections is consequently outside the confirmed Standard Edition package.
The upgrade content is also distributed through Jason and Lucia's story. Published descriptions say that new Ultimate items are uncovered behind each chapter. Owning Ultimate—or adding the Upgrade to Standard—should not be interpreted as a promise that every bonus shop, item, and service becomes available immediately at the start of the game.
The five shops Standard Edition does not include
| Ultimate-only destination | Business type | Confirmed specialty | Standard Edition status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rideout Customs | Vehicle mod shop | Detailed interiors, rims, and donk styling | Requires the Ultimate Edition Upgrade |
| One-Eyed Willie's | Vehicle mod shop | Off-road modifications and hand-painted automotive designs | Requires the Ultimate Edition Upgrade |
| Sara's Unisex Salon | Salon | Hairstyles for both protagonists, Jason facial hair, and Lucia makeup and nails | Requires the Ultimate Edition Upgrade |
| Stock 305 | Clothing store | Unique and exclusive streetwear looks for Jason and Lucia | Requires the Ultimate Edition Upgrade |
| Electric Fang Tattoo | Tattoo parlor | More than 50 signature tattoos for Jason and Lucia | Requires the Ultimate Edition Upgrade |
These are specific named businesses with specific specialties. Their exclusivity confirms a real content difference between editions: a Standard Edition player without the Upgrade cannot use these destinations or obtain their location-specific selections through those businesses.
What the list does not establish is whether a particular cosmetic or modification can ever appear through another route. A complete item-by-item exclusivity table, alternative unlock list, and base-game business directory remain unconfirmed. Treat each named location and its advertised selection as Upgrade content, but do not assume an unlisted substitute exists unless later official information or verified gameplay demonstrates one.
The two Ultimate-only vehicle mod shops
Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie's are not interchangeable copies in their published descriptions. Rideout Customs focuses on elaborate road-car presentation, including detailed interiors, distinctive rims, and donk styling. One-Eyed Willie's is a Lake Leonida business specializing in off-road modifications and hand-painted automotive artistry.
A Standard Edition buyer should therefore expect to miss those two named businesses and their advertised specialties unless the Upgrade is purchased. The Ganado Retro Build is another separate Ultimate bonus: it adds exclusive modifications to Jason's Vapid Ganado. That build should not be confused with access to Rideout Customs or One-Eyed Willie's, even though all three concern vehicle customization.
A complete inventory of Standard Edition mod shops remains unconfirmed. Community posts and individual video commentary frequently interpret the two businesses as extra specialty shops rather than the game's entire modification system. That interpretation may prove correct, but it is not strong enough to establish the number of base-game mod shops, the services they provide, or whether they cover equivalent categories.
For a purchase decision, rely on the narrower confirmed fact: Standard Edition excludes these two named vehicle businesses and the Upgrade-specific content attached to them. Do not buy Standard on the assumption that an equivalent donk or off-road shop is guaranteed, and do not buy Ultimate solely because someone claims Standard has no vehicle modification at all. Neither extreme is established by the available official descriptions.
The three Ultimate-only style shops
Sara's Unisex Salon is the clearest answer to the salon part of the keyword. It is explicitly one of the special destinations open only with the Ultimate Edition. Its advertised services include signature hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, facial-hair options for Jason, and makeup and nail options for Lucia.
Stock 305 covers clothing rather than hair. It is described as an elevated streetwear destination offering unique and exclusive looks for both protagonists. Electric Fang Tattoo covers body customization and advertises more than 50 signature tattoos designed by the artist collective FAILE.
The broader Ultimate package also includes Vice City Style, a collection of exclusive outfits, hairstyles, tattoos, and other appearance options. That collection is a separate edition benefit, even though it overlaps with the categories served by the three businesses. A Standard buyer is therefore missing more than permission to enter named locations: the Upgrade also carries exclusive appearance content outside the simple shop-name list.
However, the official descriptions do not state that Sara's is the only salon in GTA VI, that Stock 305 is the only clothing store, or that Electric Fang is the only tattoo parlor. They also do not publish a complete Standard Edition catalog of hairstyles, makeup, nails, clothing, facial hair, or tattoos. Until the game is released or Rockstar supplies a base-game directory, the amount of customization available without the Upgrade remains an open question.
What remains unconfirmed before release
The five-location restriction is confirmed, but several practical details are not. Keeping those categories separate prevents the edition descriptions from being stretched beyond what they actually say.
First, the total number of mod shops, salons, clothing stores, and tattoo parlors available to Standard Edition players is unknown. A complete Standard Edition map, business list, and count have not been confirmed. Numbers suggested in videos or community discussions are predictions rather than verified game data.
Second, feature parity is unknown. Even if Standard contains other customization businesses, the available evidence does not show whether they can perform the same kinds of work as the Ultimate-only destinations. An ordinary vehicle shop might not reproduce Rideout Customs' interiors or donk styling. Another salon might provide haircuts without matching Sara's makeup or nail selections. Alternative businesses should not be treated as equivalent before their menus are verified.
Third, the unlock timing of each destination is not specified. The Upgrade is threaded through the story, with new items uncovered behind each chapter, but Rockstar’s descriptions do not map each shop to a particular chapter, mission, protagonist, or prerequisite. Owning the Upgrade confirms entitlement, not immediate access from the opening minutes.
Fourth, Rockstar’s descriptions do not explain whether Standard players can enter an exclusive location without using its services, see it as a closed storefront, or encounter it in another context. The phrase “only open for business” confirms the commercial access restriction but does not resolve every possible form of physical interaction with the building.
Fifth, the eventual treatment of exclusive content after launch is unknown. There is no confirmed commitment that these destinations will later become free, rotate into the base game, or remain permanently unavailable without the Upgrade. Make the purchase based on the currently advertised entitlement, not on an assumed future change.
Finally, GTA VI has not yet produced public launch-version testing. Screenshots, promotional descriptions, developer material, community interpretations, and video commentary cannot substitute for a verified Standard Edition playthrough. The page can identify confirmed edition boundaries now, but detailed shop inventories and comparative service menus must wait for release evidence.
How to add the shops later
Standard Edition owners have an official upgrade path. You do not need to repurchase the complete game to obtain the five destinations.
- Redeem or activate the Standard Edition. A digital purchase is associated with the relevant platform account. A physical copy contains a digital download code rather than a disc, and that code must be redeemed first.
- Use the matching platform storefront. The Ultimate Edition Upgrade is sold as a digital add-on through the PlayStation and Microsoft stores.
- Purchase the Upgrade on the account that owns Standard Edition. The base game is required to access the add-on content.
- Install or enable any content requested by the platform. The final download process and size remain unconfirmed, so follow the storefront instructions shown on the console.
- Progress through the story as required. The Upgrade bonuses are spread across Jason and Lucia's story, and new items are uncovered behind each chapter. Purchasing the add-on should not be mistaken for bypassing those progression conditions.
Physical Standard Edition owners can upgrade after redeeming the code from the box. Because code redemption on PlayStation depends on the region of the platform account, a mismatched physical code can create an activation problem before the Upgrade is even relevant. Xbox codes are described as not region-locked, but using the correct account and storefront remains the cleanest route.
The Upgrade can be purchased separately at any time after Standard Edition has been redeemed. That makes Standard the lower-commitment option for a buyer who is unsure how much the five businesses will matter in actual play. Review the standalone Upgrade price for your platform and region before deciding to buy later. The difference between full-edition prices does not establish the add-on price.
The safest buying decision
Choose Standard Edition if your priority is access to the base game and you are comfortable waiting for verified gameplay before judging the value of the exclusive businesses. You will miss the five named destinations and other Upgrade bonuses unless you add the Upgrade, but you retain the option to purchase it later.
Choose Ultimate Edition—or plan to add its Upgrade—if Rideout Customs, One-Eyed Willie's, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305, or Electric Fang Tattoo is itself important to you. Ultimate is also the relevant choice if you specifically want the advertised exclusive vehicle treatments, salon services, streetwear, or tattoo collection rather than customization in a general sense.
Do not base the decision on claims that Standard Edition has no mod shops or salons at all. Rockstar’s edition descriptions do not establish that conclusion. The confirmed restriction is narrower and more useful: five named destinations and their Upgrade-specific content are unavailable to an unupgraded Standard Edition owner, while the full scope of ordinary Standard Edition customization remains unconfirmed before release.
